KCAC Presents
DO YOUR WORST:
An outrageously bad art auction for a wildly good cause.
This is not your average fundraiser. It’s a one-night-only spectacle of horrible art, hilarious commentary, and heartwarming support for local artists. We’re throwing all notions of good taste out the window—to raise $10,000 for the Kansas City Artists Coalition (KCAC) and our work supporting regional artists.
August 8th, 2025
Event Kicks off at 6pm!
Location: Don Bosco Community Center 526 Campbell St. Kansas City, MO 64106
Goal: Raise $10,000 in one evening
Audience: Local creatives, collectors, art lovers, KC’s funniest people, and curious first-timers.
We did our worst and asked AI to generate an image using the prompt: duct tape banana art auction… the result was hilariously bad!
Support bad art.
Become a legend.
Sponsoring Do Your Worst means proudly attaching your name to the kind of event that doesn’t take itself too seriously — but makes a serious impact. You’ll reach a glorious mix of art lovers, comedy fans, and curious weirdos who believe in the power of creativity (and a little bit of chaos). This is your chance to underwrite a night of gloriously questionable taste, directly support local artists, and prove once and for all that your brand knows how to have fun. Kansas City won’t know what hit it — and that’s exactly the point

🍌 It's funny — bananas are naturally goofy and a classic symbol of silliness (slapstick comedy = banana peels!).
🍌 It's unexpected — just like bad art, a random banana makes people do a double-take and laugh.
🍌 It’s low stakes — bananas are common, imperfect, and not taken too seriously — exactly the vibe we’re aiming for.
🍌 It hints at "slipping up" — like artists purposely making bad art... slipping into ridiculousness on purpose.
🍌 It’s bright and bold — a pop of yellow looks amazing!
🍌Because we’d love to raise $6.5M dollars - the same amount as the duct tape banana which sold at auction!

For more than four decades, the Kansas City Artists Coalition (KCAC) has worked tirelessly to survey the needs of artists right in Kansas City.
Our grassroots organization has been on the forefront of growing and nurturing the arts and the support of artists and the arts in our community. Through our exhibition series we work to bring awareness to the community as to why the arts are critical in a thriving and healthy ecosystem. There is no community without the arts.
Give today and support the organization that has been working on behalf of arts of Kansas City for 48 years and counting!

Kansas City Artists Coalition exhibitions, workshops, artist studios and educational programs provide artists encouragement and reward for their work. These opportunities work to advance artists' careers by enriching and growing their creative development and audience.
At the same time the Kansas City community is given a chance to experience new work, learn about contemporary art, meet local, regional and national artists and experience culture as it is being created.
